Why does my minecraft freeze whenever I join a certain server?

I play on xbox360. Okay so this server means a lot to me because I've worked so hard on it. However, recently there was an update that made it stop working, that server in particular. I got a notice about the update but I declined it at first and played on my server. However, I was spawning in unknown places and it looked as if I started over. So I decided maybe I just have to update it. I updated it and tried to go on my server again, but as soon as I tried to load it, it would freeze. Is there any way I can fix this? I really hope so…
