Why does my Minecraft picture freeze when I tab out and back into it?

My minecraft works perfectly fine at max settings 60+ FPS. However, when I tab out to check messages and back in (fullscreen) the picture is frozen but I can still hear and action I do. Anyone help? I'm on Windows 10.
