I have windows 8 and I downloaded minecraft but I forgot to put a desktop shortcut and now I can't find it to drag it to the desktop.
Where is minecraft in windows 8?
It'll be in the Downloads library but the easiest way to find it is to simply search for it.
Press the Windows key to go to the start screen. Type minecraft. There's no field to type it in anywhere, just start typing and Windows will automatically start searching your PC. Click on Minecraft when it appears in the search results to run it. Or right click it then click Open file location. You'll switch back to the desktop and a File Explorer window will open showing the folder Minecraft was saved to.
Searching is the best way to find anything on a Windows 8 PC.
IT will be in your downloads folder. If it has moved, you should be able to search for "minecraft" in the search bar when you move your mouse all the way to the right of your screen. I think it comes up as a file, not an application.
