the "windows 10 minecraft" is just the "windows app store" or "universal app" version of minecraft. Its needed if you want to cross-play with xbox one players.

i don't like anything about windows 10 store "apps". They are all ****. But it seems they are releasing lots of exclusive games (like gears of waork) ONLY for windows store, forcing you to use their poorly designed app framework. It doesn't support multi graphic cards, doesn't allow modding, and lots of other cons vs non app store games.
