Trying to start a 1.12.2 minecraft server I got a vanilla server working but when I go to install Forge doesn't work, its on ubuntu 18.04?

When launched in vanilla mode it works and is joinable but when trying to start it with forge(modded mode) it dosnt want to load anymore what should i do to get forge working on it?
