I get a pop up when i start minecraft that sais that i can get the new minecraft for free but i can't. It sais that its 25.00

It's a scam. If you're playing a legitimately purchased copy of Minecraft the corresponding owner will not solicit any further financial requirements to continue playing the game. Updates are free, period.

You need to pay $25.

Assuming you mean on the Xbox One, Mojang posted a message that the free activations for those that qualify are still being sorted out.

So, you have minecraft, or you don't?
