Minecraft Graphical Glitches Making Game Unplayable?

I'm trying to play minecraft but I keep getting these giant graphics glitches making the game unplayable.
I'm running a bukkit server for minecraft 1.7.10. I'm using this old version because it is the last version of minecraft to have metadata which my resource pack utilizes. This happens on any server and in single player. When I see these glitches the game has a massive lag spike for about half a second. They occur often enough to make the game unplayable. I can get rid of them temporarily by reloading the chunks with "F3+A" but they will start to appear again in a few minutes.

Running Minecraft 1.7.10 with:
-Optifine_1.7.10_HD_U_A4
-ShadersMod-v2.3.29mc1.7.10

Computer specs:
-MSI Radeon HD 7770
-AMD fx8350 4.2GHz Processor
-Windows 7 64-bit

Minecraft server won't connect, won't go from pinging?

On my Minecraft PC server it will not let anyone join. It keeps pinging and won't go from that. It was working until I turned it off to tested out a different PCs server on my internet connection. Any ideas on what could be wrong?

Added (1). The server itself is not laggy, however there's a huge delay in commands, what I mean is, if me or anyone else does /gamemode 1 it takes about a minute to actually do the commands and for it to show up in the console.

Added (2). The server itself does not lag, everything seems fine, fps stays high for everyone on the server, it's just that every once in a while (especially when logging in) if you try to do a command, it takes a while for the console to show it, and for the command to actually be executed.

Added (3). I don't think it is bad internet either, I have ethernet, fibre optic.

Added (4). By the way I have ran many servers before and this is only happening on 1.8.

Anyone Want To Own A Minecraft Server With Me?

Hey all so i have lots of experince with minecraft servers and wanted to see if anyone wants to have a server with me you could be co-owner. You must pay for the first month or two or until we get donations i don't have a paypal but i can set it up so people can donate and YOU get money some you keep and some goes to the server. I have owned around 17 servers i was co owner on 8 and been staff on at least 20… I have lots of experince with enjin and i can make the website. I have a laptop and I get Wi-Fi from my moms destop computer. If I have a friend come over with his laptop he he connects to the Wi-Fi can I host a lab server on my laptop?

How is a dual-core processor with 8 GBs of RAM for gaming?

Well I'm learning about computer components and how they work but I'm still pretty noobish when it comes to it. I don't plan on playing heavy online games like BF4 or Crysis 3, the most I'll play online would have to be on Leauge of Legends and maybe on some Minecraft servers. Any help and advice about this?

Which type of server do I set my server as?

I'm installing Linux Server OS on my server and I'm trying to run a minecraft server on it and I'm not sure which server software to install. I think it might be "Tomcat Java Server" or "Virtual Machine Host" but I want to be sure so I don't f*** it up. I will post a link to a picture of the screen below

I can't portforward on my Motorola SBG6580-G228?

A few months ago, I upgraded my router to a Motorola ModelSGB6580-G228.

I wanted to forward the port 25565 (for a minecraft server) so I went into CMD and typed ipconfig, got my default gateway and i tryed to login, I couldn't. I looked for many logins on the internet to try and login to this router and I couldn't. I called motorola and they said that they made it so that no one can login to the gateway. So I can't really do anything. I was wondering if anyone could help me with this problem.

I've been playing on the same servers for quite some time, and I want something new. Something popular, but not thousands of people. But also not a server with like 10. At least 100 would be nice. Maybe one with minigames and creative plots.

Does EXTREEEME terrain still exist on Minecraft?

Just remembering the old days of playing Minecraft, when you could find a seed that had massive mountains with deadly cliffs, endless tall forests and huge cave systems above ground.

All the servers I see now have biomes that aren't nearly as cool! Extreme hill biomes aren't as bulking and massive as they were too. Is there a survival server out there that still maintains old-fashioned seeds with epic mutated landscapes? It made house-making and survival so much more exciting.
