3 days ago, I bought Minecraft for my mac because I was in <3 with it on Xbox and my phone. I have built more than you can imagine on my phone. So, I was playing Minecraft single player on my computer and decided to make a multiplayer server for me and my friends. So, I went to the wiki of it, even watched videos of downloading java, and all that stuff, it worked and I was beaming with joy. Until it said: can't connect to server. I couldn't connect and neither could my friends. I deleted my mine craft server, and the java, and re-did all the steps again. I checked again, I saw so many forums, and videos. All of them said it might be firewall, a bug on my computer, or just the 1.8 update that didn't work. So please help me! I've been looking for help EVERYWHERE and I can't find it. Somebody please tell me what to do! Help!

1) Download the latest version of Craft Bukkit
2) Install Craft Bukkit to a folder (A lot of tutorials on YouTube out there)
3) Port Forward your server (there's literally a sh*t ton of tutorials on YouTube that shows how to do this for Minecraft)
