Any way to lower ping on Minecraft?

Ping is determined in part by your distance from the server. If you are in the USA, and the server is hosted in Europe, you will likely have a high ping as the data has further to travel. If you have a high ping on servers close to you, maybe try using a wired connection, or check that nobody in your house is streaming Netflix, as this may be using up your bandwidth.

Ping times affected by your type of connection & the physical distance between you & your desired server.

IF you're on a satellite connection, your ping times will be consistently high (around 1.000 - 3.000 seconds) because of the distance between you & the satellite relay station (via satellite) is the bottleneck in the connection.

If you're living in a fairly rural place, your ping times will be a bit higher because there's more relay points between you & your desired server(s). With my connection, it takes me 6 hops (which includes my router) to get out of my state to a major server hub. If I try to connect to a server outside the US, it can takes around 9-12 hops to get out of the US & around 12-15 hops to reach my desired international server. Each hop between you & your destination will add to your ping time as online traffic varies based on time & destination.

The only common sense stuff is to try to find a desired server that's nearby or accept the fact that you'll have lag when you play.
