Why can't i see the full picture while my ps3 is connected to my tv via hdmi?

So when i plug in my ps3 via hdmi cable it works but when i'm playing games i can't see like the last inch of the screen on either sides nor top and bottom. Like in minecraft i can't see my bottom invintory and on skyrim i can't see my stats at the botton of the page. But with the regular hook up i can see everything fine. How do i fix it on hdmi settings?

If you have a Modern Flat Screen Monitor/TV (I presume because you mention the HDMI cable), Adjust your TV's view setting with the Remote. It should have Widescreen, Zoom, Stretch, and Normal viewing adjustments, One of those should work for the game(s).

[*] In the days of Olde (CRT) TV's the picture view was expanded beyond the bezel, as the CRT during it's aging would shrink. If you do have a CRT TV you will need to get a TECH to adjust the view. I did on my olde set. There are four tiny holes in the back of the case where a special plastic long bladed screw driver could be used to make the adjustments.
