My xbox 360 when connected to HDMI it has no sound?

My xbox 360 250GB console S when connected with the HDMI cable. It has video but no audio, but it worked fine before but it suddenly stopped. So I switched to the component cable(the cable with 3 colors) and it the video and audio works fine. But I can't play some games that require HDMI such as minecraft(multiplayer).
