In minecraft. I put the nametag in a anvil named it "sparky" and I took it out looked toward the wolf and pressed the nametag and it did not work. Why is this? The wolf is tamed.

You don't press the name tag. Put the nametag on the hotbar and shift right click on the wolf.

It's probably a bug. You can create a new game or get a new wolf and try again
