Recommended parts for a mid-range PC?

More or less on a budget of $600(more likely a bit less).
I was thinking of an i5-3350P with a GTX 6XX or something with 4 or 8 gb of RAM. :\ I'm not really sure. Any recommendations? Are the parts I'm going for too pricey for the budget? No OCs.

I plan to use it for general purpose. With maybe some light gaming like Dota2, and whatever the gpu can handle for leisure activities… Plus minecraft.

Could you also include some other viable alternatives for the parts? (I don't know much about ATI and AMD)

Added (1). If it interests some people:
This will be a replacement for something I've been using for a really long time. An E2140 paired with an FX 5600 and 1GB of RAM. So the upgrade will be really noticeable.

How to change your GUI Scale in Beta?

So I recently have been playing Minecraft Beta 1.2_01, something I have not played in quite a while.
So is there a way to change your GUI scale to the "Normal" setting?
It is kind of hard for me to play like that, and I would like to know if any of you know how to change it.

High ram + Good GFX Card yet still lag?

Ok so my computer has some pretty good specs, i have 16GB ram and an AMD Raedon HD 6900 Series GFX Card. But still games like skyrim and Cod Ghosts lag on decent graphics settings. Worst of all, minecraft is lagging with about roughly 10-20 fps. I know Ghosts has been reported to run with lag but even my old computer (8GB ram + nVidia gtx 480 gfx card) ran it better then now. What is wrong with my computer?

Added (1). I have the Java SDK 7 Update 45 (64 Bit) Installed

MY minecraft launcher is slow all of the sudden and won't FING LAUNCH?

I launched minecraft and I noticed it launching slow it usally loads faster and when it finished loading I couldn't press play and I deleted.minecraft so many times but it didn't work! How to not catch on fire in Minecraft?

I'm working on an adventure map in Minecraft, and I need to make it so that a set of armor will make you completely invulnerable to lava. That means you can't catch on fire or take any damage whatsoever. How do I do this? Is there an enchantment, or do I need to do some coding?

What is wrong with Minecraft?

I own a late 2013 21.5 inch2.7 ghz intel core i5 mac. When I play minecraft on it, the graphics are blurry. I tried changing the graphics to fancy, but it didn't help. This is weird because MC wasn't blurry last week. Also, random static appears every 2 mins and stays for 1 second. What is wrong?
