I just got a new laptop for christmas and everything is great except the fact that when I try to play games, left clicking doesn't work well. I have to click 4-5 times for it to work. But it works normally when browsing menus, or normally doing things on my computer (like browsing the interwebs).
The computer came with Windows 8.1-64 bit. This is really getting my nerves. I've tried Minecraft, DC Universe online, Left 4 dead 2, and A fan game called Sonic GDK.
I just want to left click in peace x(
And suggestions?
I get these weird dotted/line patterns on my screen when I play certain games. They appear when I play Sid Meier's Civilization 5, Minecraft and DayZ. I haven't tested other games for this bug but out of all the games I currently have downloaded, these three games are affected by this bug. They seem to be affected by the Anti-aliasing setting in DayZ and they started appearing after I downloaded Sid Meier's Civilization 5.
I use Steam to play.

I can't help but think I'm terrible at everything I do. I play video games a lot and yet most of my friends are so much better. Also, I pretty much lose all the time, especially in board games. Every single board game I play I end up losing. I may win a Monopoly game once a year but other than that I fail. And it's not just games, but sports too. I used to be great at tennis and could beat lots of my friends in my tennis class. Now, they can usually beat me. In addition to that, my grades are dropping. I tend to get too into games like Minecraft and QuizUp. Even though I play them a lot, my friends eat me in Minecraft and the only thing I'm good at in QuizUp is Led Zeppelin (my friends beat me in any other topic). Games are the reason my grades are dropping and I ended up with two B+'s this quarter (which is really bad for me). To top all of this off, I'm introverted and lack social skills with girls. The only thing I'm left with are my witty jokes, that, let's face it, don't matter. I can't help but think of my self as a good for nothing geek who lacks social skills and lacks character. Can someone please help me? Serious answers please.
Ok so this has been going on for over 5 months… My internet is up working perfectly fine… I can go on any website with no trouble. However, when I try to connect to www.minecraft.net It says "This site's security certificate is not trusted. Options: Proceed Anyway, Back to Safety" I hit "Proceed Anyway" and it just says "No data received" Options: Reload, More. I reload it, nothing happens. I checked firewall and everything… It doesn't say that www.minecraft.com is blocked! I can also use the game perfectly fine… It's only my computer that does this… All of my friends can use it perfectly fine while I'm sitting there trying to figure out why it won't connect.

How do you make the little cross in the middle of the minecraft screen go away?
Ok so I had a brand new $50 dollar gift card and spent $10 on a game for my bro and he swipes it and says there's $9.21 on it i say there's supposed to be $50 and he said nope, so I give him a $5 dollar bill and he takes the card and puts it somewhere. I went home and checked amazon to see if I used it and i didn't, I can't even do anything really because the proof is the card and he has it. Worst part is I went in there for a Minecraft PC gift code and he replied "There's no such thing as a PC money card" so I leave with no Code and a $50 gift card useless. I wanted to start an argument but that wouldn't have gotten me anywhere.
Added (1). it wasn't an amazon giftcard it was a visa giftcard
Sometimes the mouse pad on my laptop freezes up, and I can only fix it by doing "control alt delete" and shutting down my computer. I can still use the keyboard, and I can manually swap between windows (windows button + tab), but it is very difficult to do anything without the mouse. Lately, I have noticed this happening more and more frequently, and it is rather annoying to have to shut down my computer just to get my mouse working again. If it helps, my laptop is a HP Pavilion dm4-2033cl, which runs Windows 7. I also have been playing more Minecraft lately, which I think might have something to do with it. All help is appreciated!
I was trying to record minecraft with windows 8 and it kept glitching so i looked online and it told me to roll back driver so i did it. Now I can't play minecraft at all and instead of nividia gpu it says microsoft basic display adapter. Is there any way to fix it please help!
