Minecraft FPS drop for no reason?

So yesterday my minecraft was running really smooth. I was getting 90-120fps with 12 render distance and fast graphics. However, when I went on tonight, I was getting terrible lag, so I went to check my minecraft FPS. I was getting around 50-30fps which is odd because I usually no less than 50. I tried turning down my render distance, turning smooth lighting all the way off, but nothing seemed to work despite my best efforts. Please help me find the problem and Aldo if you can, give me a solution.

Laptop brands and specs - recommendations?

I'm looking for a new laptop. I want a hybrid tablet running on Windows 8. While I primarily want it for browsing and such, I'm a multi-tasker so I don't want anything slow.

Processor?
RAM? (Is 4 GB enough, or should I pay extra for 6 or 8 GB?)

And what is the difference between the brands: Dell, Sony, VAIO, Acer, etc? Pros and cons of those?

One other wrinkle -- my son wants to play games like Minecraft and video record them. I may give him this laptop in a year. What laptop graphics capabilities and memory are needed to do that well if I wanted to spend the extra money and pass this on to him?

A good program to stitch 100's of small music files together?

So what i'm trying to do is take the sound files from Minecraft, which are.ogg files, and "stitch" them all together into a song.
I need a FREE, easy to use program that can quickly allow me to combine the sound files and shorten some if necessary.
Know of one?

Added (1). I suppose i could use windows movie maker, but that wouldn't be good for 100's of files.

Can you remove bite marks from foam?

I bought my boyfriend a foam Minecraft diamond sword and pickaxe for his birthday, but my ferret somehow managed to climb on top of my dresser, and she left two tiny teeth marks on the foam sword.

I really don't want to give my boyfriend a Minecraft sword that has ferret teeth marks indented on it.

I'm really doubtful, but is there any way to remove bite marks from a foam object?

Dell inspiron n5030 with intel graphics, there's no graphics setting in the bios, and i have 3 gigs of ram, would like to do anything possible to increase proformance of minecraft, or age of empires 3.(this is a laptop)

I want to put together a gaming desktop, what kind of graphics card should I get for games like minecraft, COD Ghosts and G-mod? Also how much memory should I get. I don't want anything too expensive but Obviousely I'd like something not outdated and something that is really good for its price.

Macbook Pro crashes when trying to play games?

My Macbook Pro crashes whenever I try to play Sims 3, Minecraft, or any other game I have. It had never done that before I installed OS X Mavericks.

Whenever I try to play a game it will freeze up and then my computer will restart itself because it encountered a problem. It doesn't do this with any other program, just games that I have installed.

Any ideas on what is causing it and how I could fix it?

Minecraft Black Screen Of Death?

I had just bought minecraft for my very old Mac laptop it is Mac OS X version 10.5.8 and it won't update anymore than that 2.4 GHz intel Core Duo. I started up minecraft and it played okay for the first few minutes then i tired entering full screen and it went all black. I can hear the music but nothing in the game. I have tried restarting it but it just automatically goes back to the full black screen. What can i do?
