I'm in creative mode as I've been before- but suddenly I don't have stairs? I did an update and now I have no stairs or slabs. I have new things like new walls I can build but yeah, no stairs is a pain in the but. Anyone else have this or know how to fix it?

I'm modding minecraft and I'm using a course that walks you through modding step-by-step, and we're using Gimp. The thing is, with minecraft, you're only drawing on pixel levels, so a one pixel pencil.
well, today I got on Gimp and I found my brush massivly huge for the job. I really need that pencil to be a singular pixel. So I tried looking it up, and tried to follow the guides, but it's not working because 1. I'm on a mac, or 2. I have no idea.
How the heck do I change the bloody pencil size to a single pixel?

I plan to play BF4, Titanfall, Minecraft, DayZ, Rust and Horror Games.
If so, how? I have a huge problem with lagging in Minecraft. I have the graphics set to fast, and optifine didn't do a bit of justice.
I don't care about minecraft anymore, the SE binary hogs all of my disk space and I want to get rid of it! Out of my life forever! It constantly crashes my poor laptop especially when I use FL studio. I lose beats I have created and it p***ses me off. Please, please tell me how to get rid of it forever. I tried uninstalling java, but that crashed my computer as well.
Added (1). Well no one really helped, but I was able to uninstall java this time and its gone. The only problem now is a message pops up every once in a while saying "can't find javaw." whatever else it says.
