7770 is drastically better then a gtx 8800. The gtx 8800 is like 8 years old.

The 7770 is about 70-80% faster than the 8800 GTX. The 7770 will require a six pin adapter, and the 8800 GTX will require either a six pin or eight pin adapter, I can't remember which
It's worth pointing out that the 8800 GTX is not DX11 compliant.
