Big gamer don't know what to choose?

Sims or Minecraft? I have sims and I really want minecraft, but I also really want a sims expansion pack. What should I choose

Computer shutting down/going to sleep mode while gaming?

So, I should say everything.
My PC before, well, was a really good 'gaming' PC. It ran Minecraft, AC, Devil May Cry 4, Boderlands, etc, pretty smooth. Then I tried Far Cry 3… It ran… Bad, so I tweaked a lot of things (i don't remember) And it ran, smooth on low. After I got tired of it, I didn't play for a while. Then I tried going back to Minecraft, and first thing was that, it ran Really BAD. Everything on low, giving 3gb of memory to it, it still runs bad. And after a few minutes-hours(Minimum 2) it shuts off/goes to idle, and it doesn't turn back on, my monitor just stays black.
So now, I can't even play minecraft for 3 minutes without it shutting off and stuff, it's annoying.
That's the problem basically. Please I need help, I mean, it doesn't even run minecraft! MINECRAFT!

I need the water in Minecraft to be clear. I have pictures to show the problem?

So I've had the water in minecraft not clear for a long time. I had it at one point then something changed… I'm bad with settings and tried everything. I keep changing it but the water stays the same I want it to be clear. Where I can see… This is what the water looks like when I go under:

I use the texture pack willpack3… But even when I don't use a texture pack it does the same thing. Here is a picture to show what my settings look like:

Can someone please tell me what I should change the settings to? And Please no people who "think" you know what your doing… Please only reply if you know. No time needs to be wasted. And if it isn't a setting I'd like to know what it is… Thanks.

Minecraft launcher start but can't play?

Ok, i'm new to minecraft so I installed it on my computer first time now. And try to start it and the launcher works perfectly. But when i try to play, the Minecraft window screen just pitch black and it suddenly stopped. And there's a log saying something like this

Is 40mbps fast enough for gaming?

I was wondering if 40mbps is fast enough internet speed for gaming.
I'm playing on pc and play games such as Battlefield 4, Minecraft and COD.
