Which Modelling/Animating/Texturing software is best?

I'm looking at modelling for a basic survival game that my friend will code. I've only ever worked with Minecraft level modelling or texturing (though my textures went beyond 16x16 to 256x256) and I've been told I'm pretty decent. I have a list of FREE modelling softwares below and if anyone could tell me which they think is best or if they've used them before were they good? Thanks in advance! (And yes I'm using Wikipedia links).

Why did my MineCraft FPS drop so much? - 1

Ok, so I have an HP Envy desktop PC. On MineCraft 1.6.4, I would get 300 FPS on max settings. So one day I came home from school, got on MineCraft, and My FPS dropped down to below 60 FPS, I turned all the setting down to the lowest possible and it still remains below 60 FPS with huge, constant lag spikes. I even allocated 4 gbs of ram to the game and it still hasn't fixed anything! Someone please tell me why this has happened!

Can I add RAM to my Dell inspiron? If so how much?

I have a Dell Inspiron that I got in Febuary. I forget which model it was but it was $400 and has 4 GB of ram. I use it to play Minecraft and would like to have it run a little smoother by adding ram. So how much RAM can it handle and where would I get the parts to do it.
