Can a dying hard drive cause a computer to freeze unexpectedly?

So in the last 2 days now, it's gotten worse. PC keeps locking up, today it's completely froze on me, 3 times already.

I'm using a WD 500gb hard drive, not sure how old those drives are, but I'm sure they are more than 7 years old.

I ran chkdsk, said the volume is clean, now I'm back on the computer typing this.

Someone said its a driver issue. Well, I don't see how, all drivers are up to date, as far as the GPU drivers go, and as far as I know, USB drivers and all other drivers are up to date.

Is it possible for using an older version of Firefox to freeze the computer? It hasn't froze when playing Minecraft. Playing YouTube on Firefox, yea it's froze then on outdated Firefox usage.

I'm leaning toward the hard drive is getting ready to die. Any help you can give is very appreciated, because I don't have a clue at this point. Thanks.

Oh and currently I'm using Chrome, still have the outdated Firefox installed, and been using the outdated Firefox for many months now with no issues until about 7 days ago.

Minecraft building ideas?

I rebuilt a village with only modern-style (white, squareish, big windows, etc) buildings and I want to keep expanding it. Having trouble thinking of buildings that would fit though.

So far I've got houses, farms, butcher, library, blacksmith, church, café, police station, park (picnic tables, fountain, gazebo).

As for the landscape, 3 sides are pretty dense forest and one side leads to a river.

How long does a Minecraft password reset take?

We forgot the password for logging into the game, so we reset it on the mojang website. When we try to log in through the game launcher, we're still getting an "Invalid password" error.

What's the length of time until the game launcher recognizes the new password?

Added (1). We got it working. In the game launcher, it asks for Player Name or E-mail. We were using the player name, still wasn't working so we then used the e-mail and now it works.

I don't understand Minecraft Marketplace?

I've been playing Minecraft since before Bedrock version came out. I have no idea when the Minecraft Marketplace came out. All I know is there's a texture pack I used to use that FINALLY updated for 1.13 in the marketplace and I can't figure out how to access it.

I'm on a Windows 10 PC and there's no "in-game store" in my version, and when I try to download things from the marketplace a new tab opens but nothing loads. I feel like an 80 year old using a Nintendo for the first time. Back in my day, texture packs were free. What is going on and how does the store work

Added (1). Also while I'm here are carpet blocks supposed to be transparent. I can't walk through them on my game.

So i play minecraft on my phone and i was playing earlier but when i just got back on i was at a completely different spot and i lost my house and everything! I'm so mad because i had a town and now i don't know where it is. Anyway i can fix this?

I already previously had a Minecraft account and downloaded it on my laptop around 3 years ago. My laptop was old, bit it worked fine?

Until my computer died because it was old. I still have the account, and would it still cost $27 to download it again on my new windows 10 if I still have the account?
