I crash when playing any computer game?

So I play 3 different computer games and all of them cause my computer to crash. ROBLOX is one of the games. If I'm on multiplayer, I crash within less than 3 minutes on the game. Minecraft is another game. On single player, I crash in about 10-20 minutes time. On multiplayer, I crash within less than 5 minutes. SimCity is the 3rd game I play. I crash within less than 5 minutes. In fact, after the crash, I can't even open up the game.

What is going on? I have a Windows laptop that I got in Christmas 2012, so I doubt it's getting old. What is going on here?

Game recommendation, read more?

I'm not a big action/fast paced gamer. I like games like The Sims, Harvest Moon, Animal Crossing. And I like the free roam aspect of GTA 5. And the freeness to do whatever you want with minecraft. I'm really interested in finding a game, specifically on the PC, that is slow paced/normal paced, has a bit of life simulation aspects to it and is relaxing. I'm fine with slightly adventurous games.
Any suggestions that might fall under one or more of these categories would be nice.

What is the best steam game $10 or down?

I got $10 to spend on Steam. I like strategy (Sid Meiers Civ) and adventure/action (Minecraft & World of Tanks). What games are great and maybe even multiplayer under $10, I'm 12 yrs old. Also, is it worth waiting until 4th o July for game sales?

What FPS range will this give me in Minecraft?

So I'm making a PC and I was just wondering if this was worth it for Minecraft FPS. I would have my video settings on 10 render, graphics on fancy, brightness st full, and with optifine. Here's my build.
Intel® i5-4460 Processor (4x 3.20GHz/6MB L3 Cache)

AVC K7127N Liquid CPU Cooling System (Copper plate for best cooling performance) [Intel-1150]

8 GB [4 GB x2] DDR3-1600 Memory Module RAM

NVIDIA GeForce GT 740 - 2GB

MSI Z97 G45 Gaming -- 3x PCIe x16, 2x USB 3.0, 6x USB 2.0

1TB hard drive

I'm not looking for an excact number just an FPS range.
