Minecraft: How to install Simply Horses Mod?

I've been trying for the past half an hour to get the mod Simply Horses. I've gotten forge and the mod and tried versions 1.4.7 and 1.6.2 (only ones I could find) and neither of them worked (changed game version, tried getting different Forge version. )
I have a cracked version, because I'm not allowed to buy it, and so far I've gotten quite a few mods to work, just not this one.

Does anyone have an idea on how to get this to work? Or maybe a somewhat detailed explanation on how to install it?

I'm looking for some fun mods to screw around with, I'm not looking for anything that changes the dynamic of the game or anything unless you have a really good one.

Is this a decent gaming pc build?

I'm on a budget of 600 dollars and I just did some research. I was just wondering if I picked out good parts for a decent gaming pc, not overkill, but one that gets the job done? I want to play games like
euro truck simulator, minecraft, team fortress 2, Garry's mod and left for dead 2? I hope I picked right, because people usually underestimate me in everything! Lol once I get a chance to build this ill show them! Anyway, do the parts work together for this?
