How to install minecraft mods without having the bin folder?

I really want to install mods but I can't figure out how. Every tutorial I find always uses the bin folder which I don't have.

First, have Minecraft Forge installed. It acts as a modloader which "installs" the mods into your game for you. Download link: http://files.minecraftforge.net/...forge.net/. Depending on which version of Minecraft you have, Forge installtion instructions may be different so a simple search on that version's installation tutorial on any search engine will yield results. Once installed, run Minecraft once and close it.

Next, navigate to your.minecraft folder. The file destination should be as such: C:\Users\<Your PC's Username>\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft. Look for a "mods" folder. If you can't find one, create a new folder and rename it to "mods". For any mod you wish to install to your game, simply download it and drag the.jar or.zip file into the "mods" folder and run Minecraft. If installed correctly, the mod should be active in your game. If not, you probably done something wrong and it's best you review the procedures again.
