Minecraft: Mineshaft: Blue dot?

So I was playing minecraft and I found a mineshaft. I was playing creative at the time and I was just exploring and marking my trail with torches. There were so many passages however and soon I became lost. Then near the top of my screen a floating blue dot appeared. I looked up at it and it moved further down the tunnel I was currently in. So I followed it and then it took a turn and I continued to follow it until I was at the beginning if the mineshaft. Where I had started and then the blue dot disappeared. I wasn't online and I don't have any mods or anything like that. I had just created the world as well. Anyone know what the hell was going on? (Like I said I had no mods but I did try to summon herobrine right before finding the mine )

It could of just been your render distance reaching it's maximum seeing distance and you were left looking out at unloaded chunks in the distance. Herobrine isn't in the game anymore because it scared players so he won't be popping out at you anytime soon

Depending on how big it is it could be a water drop that lagged and got stuck on your screen until your game reloaded from having to load the blocks in the mine shaft

Make sure you turn off Anti-Aliasing on your graphics card. This happens to a lot of people. It's probably just a seaming issue on the blocks.

Also, there's no way to summon Herobrine. He was even removed from the game multiple times (even though all but the first removes were probably for laughs). There ARE mods for him, though. I'm also pretty sure Herobrine has never even existed in the first place…
