Is 8gb of ram enough for gaming?

I'm soon to get a new laptop with 8gb of ram and need to know if it will work with: minecraft (with mods). Possibly a server too. Also for portals 1 + 2 and about 5/6 other steam games.

I think minecraft only requires about 3-4 but honestley if i were you i would get more space if you want to run multiple games without alot of lag

Generally, yes 8GB of memory is a decent enough amount for most users. Please do not forget Graphics this is a second variable in game play. You commented on other steam games. Check your have the required Graphics power to play these games on your laptop.
