I'm getting an 8GB RAM, 1 TB hard drive computer in a week or so. I'm planning to use it for: autodesk (inventor, max, maya), Microsoft FSX simulator, minecraft, no limits coaster, and screen recording. Is an 8GB computer good enough for the programs I want to use it for? Thanks!

4gb is enough. You could spend on graphics card
I have a 4 ram laptop and it runs many games perfectly with 60+ frames (only draw back may be the video card make sure you get a good one) and i can run minecraft with 100 + frames so i bet its good
8GB is good enough, though architectural programs can at times benefit from more memory. If you have the money to spare, get another 4gb, and that should definitely cut it.
For your other applications, it would really be enough, but this is only in the case where you have a viable graphics card.
