Ok, so I want to get Zan's Minimap in Minecraft, but the mod simply will not chain with Minecraft when I download it. (Pc by the way) I have Liteloader as instructed by every website I have tried, and it works because I see it as one of my profile options at startup. I have the mod installed into my computer, but it won't link to Minecraft.

Mojang really messed with how you install mods with the new launcher. Try to install Zan's Minimap the manual way (without Magic Launcher or your Liteloader). There are several guides on YouTube that guides you through it.
Sidenote: I'd recommend Rei's over Zan's if you're looking for a minimap
