I'm a beginner at minecraft and I want some mods. I tried no creatures and installed forge and everything and put the mod into the mods folder, and used the forge profile. When I launched minecraft, I had no new mods.

Try opining the MO creatures folder and seeing if there something in there that is labeled to go some were else. If not that then did you change your profile by pressing edit in the left hand corner of the launcher and changing the version to forge. And if that's not it than make sure you have the right version of forge to go with that version of the mod.
