How to install a mod in minecraft?

Some mods are different but you normally just drag and drop the archive into the minecraft directory mods folder. Search for tutorials and the mod you with to install.

What version of minecraft are the mods you want and do they need forge? Why not just search youtube yourself, or be more detailed in your question.

Well I'm not a complete expert on this, but I have downloaded mods before. To my understanding, some mods use forge. Forge can be downloaded easily into your minecraft using the forge auto-installer.

I use optifine, and all I need to do is download it, then open it with java, then press the install button. After it installs, I load minecraft, but I select the Optifine profile instead.
