I recently bought a macbook pro, and it is the smoothest, fastest thing I've ever purchased. It's rarely ever warm, and the few times it does get a little hot from gaming, the fans kick in and cool the computer down. However, whenever I run Java applications like Minecraft and engineering simulations on my computer, my fans don't spin. This makes my computer VERY hot to the touch. Is there any application or program that allows me to turn on the fans on my own?
Macbook Pro Retina fans don't spin sometimes?

Mac's are known for getting warm. People buy the laptop coolers (fans) that attach to the bottom of the laptop.
Eventually my macbook got old. 8 years of heavy daily use. It still runs fast and works very well, but it gets hot very fast now, even with the fan. I'm afraid it might heat up too much and damage the mother board (logic board), so I have been putting those blue packs of liquid ice from the freezer under my laptop to keep it cool when I use it long periods of time.
