Laptop reaching 86 Celsius while gaming?

As the title says, my laptop is reaching really high temperatures during gaming (Minecraft, Steam games, etc.) I haven't had too many throttling issues but I'm worried about the heat.

Please read my full question at.

You may need to play it with the air intake and fan having enough room to suck in air and release it. You can buy a cheep cooling mat for laptops on EBAY that plug into the USB and cool the air intakes and fans. If this doesn't work, you may need to take it to a PC shop and buy a better fan

Is that core temp you are quoting?

If not then you might want to go to download.com and search on and get a FREE program called Core Temp. It's a small program that will display the temp of each one of your CPU's cores. You can set it so it show the temps right on your task bar.

I wondering if your temp sensor is possibly off/incorrect. That is awfully hot (186.8F) and I would have thought that your computer would automatically shut down at that temp. Todays CPU's don't let themselves fry!

Give the Core Temp program a shot, I think you'll like it and it might just verify that you are in fact running that hot.
Also, a cooler pad with a couple of fans helps any laptop stay a lot cooler! Get one.
