Ok so, I already have downloaded forge for minecraft 1.8 but when I try to open it, it says that i need an app from the app store to open the file. I'm in windows 8 and can't find any free apps that can open it. I don't even relay know what to look for! Can anyone help me?

You don't open it you put it into the mine craft folder but if you mean open the zipped file use winrar then From there drag the files into your mine craft folr

Do you have winrar or 7-zip? You need to use either one of those to get them to work, search either one on youtube or google
