How to get minecraft working on windows 8.1?

So, I have a computer with windows 8.1 and I realized that minecraft can't work on that, and only windows 8. How do I fix this?

Download the latest version of Java. The 64-bit version supports far rendering distance if your pc can handle it.

I have 8.1 x64, I downloaded minecraft & ran the program… Then played the game without any issues. Here's the one I got
