Can anyonr give me RAM study?

Hihi.
My recent ram just burned *sob*
So plan on buying another ram
I only left with 2gb ram and it lagging like crazy
Especially when I play minecraft

But the problem is that I'm not pro in all these computer spec stuff,
And I tried asking my area who's a pro at pc technical stuff and how to "read" tech
But they refused to teach me (I think they'll lost their business as I'm a regular customer)
And I don't want to be con by the sales men

The only thing I know about ram is
Bigger the GB, the more task can be handle by the pc at one time.

And I tried study ram,
But with all these "ddr 1/2/3", x series, and so on…
I can't understand an effing thing @@
And I end up having X in my eyes Lol

So can anyone Please give me an edu about ram? TT

Here's some pointers:

-Always go for DDR3. Most likely your computer's motherboard will only accept DDR3 anyway

-Most consumers go for 4 or 8 GB. You shouldn't have less than 4, however you won't need more than 8 GB.

-If you can, go for 2 sticks of RAM. This allows for something called Dual Channel memory, which means the CPU splits the load onto the 2 modules instead of one.

-Make sure you buy the right size modules (each 'stick' or RAM is called a module). Laptops use SODIMM type modules, while normal desktop computers use DIMM.

-Speed. Usually for normal use you want DDR3-1333 or DDR3-1600 speed RAM. For more intensive tasks, some people go for DDR3-1866 or even DDR3-2133

Use this-

Select "Scan My System" and it will tell you what type of memory it uses (DDR, DDR2, DDR3), what speeds it supports (667MHz, 800MHz, 1066MHz, etc.), and the maximum amount per slot that it can use (1GB, 2GB, 4GB, etc.). Then do a search using that info for the best deal.
