Will steam give me a computer virus and will minecraft too because on our last pc it was slow and had so many pop ups right after i got minecraft and some games on steam and i had no mods and my dad and siblings do not believe me that it doesn't give a virus.

Viruses come from software you get from untrustworthy sites.
Steam is a very trustworthy site, and they do a very good job making sure the games they offer do not contain viruses or malware.
Minecraft is also a trustworthy piece of software So LONG AS you ONLY download it from the official website and not some site offering a "cracked" version.
