Can a Microsoft Surface play games downloaded from the web?

I'm considering purchasing the original Surface tablet. Can I play games like World of Warcraft and Minecraft on it? And does it run Steam?

Apparently there are some problems with the Microsoft Surface PCs running WOW and likely Steam too, which is not hugely surprising as they are pretty much tablets sold as mini computers, by selling compatible keyboards. I would save up for a laptop at least. They are hugely better than tablets AND netbooks, as my personal experience has taught me. I would only recommend the Surface as an upgrade phone, which is only used for creating documents e.g. Powerpoint, Excel etc.
