I'm a small youtuber and I have had this recurring problem. I record minecraft videos using fraps (the full version) and render and edit on window's movie maker. Every time I make a video, the left and right are black strips. I have it set to widescreen. I want it to have borders on the top and bottom which youtube already does. I have tried everything. I do not know how to edit fraps settings. I have looked through them and am clueless. The borders aren't bad, just they are not what I want. Widescreen fixes some of the problem but I still get the borders on the left and right sides in movie maker. I NEED a fix. I have searched. If it is a fraps thing then I would really love to know how to fix it.

Is your screen set to the same aspect ratio as the video? If not, the borders will apear because the video isn't stretched to fit. Change your screen resolution or record / watch in the same aspect ratio as your desktop resolution.
If the problem is not aspect ratio / resolution, then you could try recording with another program such as Bandicam and see if the problem persists.
