I can't get my Minecraft launcher to open?

There has been a problem inside the minecraft folder. You need to either "Reinstall Minecraft" or "See what's wrong inside your folder" If you are going to reinstall make sure to back up "saves, resource packs, servers," hope this helped.

1. Go into the minecraft folder
>search %appdata% in your go to finder, or on mac find application support.
>Copy paste your saves, resource packs, and servers folder and put them somewhere safe.
2. Delete the minecraft folder from the %appdata% area and uninstall launcher.
3. Go to the official minecraft.net site and re install the launcher.
4. Start up the game. If your saves are there along with the rest good. But you will need the resource packs.
5. Open resource packs and then put the packs from the safe folder back into the games.
6. If your other stuff isn't there then go to the %appdata% location, click minecraft, then copy the saves and stuff from the folder back into its respected area. DO NOT COPY THE ACTUAL FOLDER ONLY THE CONTENTS!
