Best low cost gaming laptop?

I want to get my little brother a laptop for Christmas this year. I need a little help with figuring out which one to get. The main thing it would be used for is minecraft. I don't know much about it but he loves minecraft we have it for the ps and he would go nuts if he found out I'm getting him a laptop. So what kind of laptops are good for gaming, specifically minecraft. Brands, links, what kind of specs to look for? Also do I have to buy an actual physical minecraft game? Or do I download it? Any recommendations are appreciated thanks! ^-^
