Will i get banned for modding minecraft on xbox?

I'm not going to do mods to cheat, just for a bit of fun. I was going to make the game private and just let friends join.

The mods i was going to do were things like x level tools, monster spawners, and setting the weather to always thunder. I'm not going to use these mods to get achievements because i already have them.

Can i get banned for doing this? Or can i contact microsoft in some way to find out?

Added (1). I decided it's best not to risk it. The mods arnt really important anyway.

I just thought, because i download maps all the time and a couple are modded that it might be ok. But I'd prefer to not find out the hard way…

Will you? Hard to say. Maybe not.

Can you? Absolutely. It's against their terms of use to mod even a single player game, so if you ever connect online with that console you can get banned.

Well if you do a mod with a laptop then you won't get banned cuz if you do a mod using a laptop they can't know your doing mods

Well, I don't know for sure but it is pretty likely they will ban you. Try out the PC version. Modding is totally free, legal and easy to install. All famous youtubers use mods and it is totally worth it. A few great mods are BuildCraft, OreSpawn and Twilight Forest, but these are not for xbox 360 version.

Additional note: 4J Studious said they will have some special features only for the Xbox ONE (new xbox) which is good to look forward to. This might include mods which are not against their terms of service.

Id say don't risk it. I'd rather live without a mod that without minecraft.

Course it is fine loads of famous youtubers have done it for example stampylongnose and iballisticsquid yogcast and tobuscus so it should be fine
