I downloaded mine craft for the Xbox 360 from the marketplace. I went to the xbox one marketplace and upgraded the game for $5. I bought the disc for madden 15 for the Xbox one… Where do I go to upgrade it to the Xbox one? Does it work like that?

You don't upgrade Madden.
Minecraft is about the only game that has an upgrade option built into it; there were a few other $10 upgrades but that was only for a few games that came out before the Xbox One launched, and that offer is long done.
