I've played splitscreen on my xbox before with this same tv (it's a big flatscreen but i don't know if its hd) but now I'm trying to do it again but it's not doing it. I have one controller on a guest profile and another on xbox live. I tried to goolge it but they just tell me to change the HDTV setting but like when I try it doesn't let me select it… I don't remember how I did it last time.

I had the same problem before, try signing into a real account instead of a guest. Check to see if your tv is hd and then make sure your using a HDMI cable. Hope this helps.

The previous answers are true. You need an HDMI cable. It should work just fine if you do it right. By the, you'll only need to use the HDMI cable you can unplug the standard AV cables and get better picture quality.

Make sure you have an HDTV, HDMI cable, then follow this helpful video I found to change the settings to HD.
