I no longer pirchase xbox live anymore, and i'm thinking of buying minecraft (hard disk) I can connect to the internet just not live.
Can I still get minecraft updates eithout having live? ( I can still connect to wireless internet with my xbox)

Yeah, you can still update Minecraft without Xbox gold membership. Just stay on a internet connection.
