Was the i5-4440 a good choice for gaming?

So i recently bought myself a new gaming computer and got a lot of help from some of my friends. However all of them told me to get the i5-4440 instead of an i7, because apperantly the i5 does the job when it comes to gaming, so i did exactly that, but now i'm wondering if i did the right choice or not. And i should upgrade to an i7 anytime soon or not.

my specs are:
gtx 760
intel i5-4440
8 gb of ram

for the moment i'm playing ac 4 and minecraft, but i'm considering to buy battlefield 4, will the i5 do the job or not?

Yeah definantly, I have a dual core and it runs pretty well on that. My frined had an Alienware that could play anything he threw at it, also if you want to be sure before you buy the game, just look at your specs and compare them to the requirements on the game site.

Yeah the difference between that and an i7 is like 2 fps.

Nop. No need to upgrade it to anythng higher soon. Just go with what you have, no need to worry about graphics and all thanks to gtx760:) and you also have enough ram size and you are good to go. All are up to date. Cheerrzz

Yes, when gaming there's not a big enough performance boost to justify the extra $100 for the i7's as hyper-threading does not take any advantages in almost every game on the market today. All AAA title games today are optimized for true quad core CPU's such as the Intel i5's. You made the right choice by saving the extra $100. When it comes to PC gaming now a days, they are more GPU intensive then they are CPU intensive, the better the GPU the better the FPS you will get on your games.

Hope this helped you,
