Why can't i play with others on minecraft after updating to windows 10?

I recently updated my Windows 8 to Windows 10. However, since I've dated my laptop I can't play Minecraft with others. Why can't anyone find my server or I can't find anyone on Minecraft? What do i need to do to fix this problem… I'd love to be able to play with my friends again.
