Minecraft pvp server tricks plugin?

I recently was playing in a minecraft pvp server. There was some of the people who attack stronger, for example damage 5 hearts with just one punch! I asked them how do they do it and they called it "tricks".
Well, I searched everywhere about these tricks but I just found boring things like block hit, etc. Anyone have information about these "tricks"? Is it even exist in vanilla version or it is a plugin?

It's Sword enchantment, not tricks. For example most OP sword in minecraft is if you will get it Sharpness V and fire aspect II enchantment, then you will give enemy like 12 hearts + damage.

so that is it, i'v played a lot of minecraft, on PVP servers all the time, if there would be any "trick" (just like block hit) i would know it for sure.
