If I make a server, it's gonna sap the connection from my router. Is there anything I can do so that this DOESN'T happen?
(P.S. I would love it if you didn't have to portforward either)

If you needed to ask this do NOT try to host your own server, you do not know enough about hosting and servers to do so safely. NO server can overload your router. The limitation will be in the bandwidth of your connection, especially upstream. And if you want others to use it they can't unless you set up forwarding.
The other guy is completely wrong. You can use hamachi but you and your friends must have the program installed on your computer, as far as hosting the server depends on your MBPS UP and computer speed
