Well, all of those answers are correct in a way, but in my own opinion, I think it's pretty hard, I have experiences and what did I do was going to the minecraft server list, register your account and register your server there, then you can vote everyday, and someday will rise to the top, if your doing cracked, you can also register your server at Mineshafter, 'fragme.net is also a good website to advertise.
