So I'm helping a guy set up a PVE minecraft server. It's gonna be spigot (i don't know what that really means other than modded bukkit which i also don't know what that is). Anyway, how do you be a proper staff member (like OP). We have pretty much essential plugins we're planning to download. But can somebody just explain to me everything I'd need to know? And about hacking people and whatnot? I'm sorta unexperienced haha!
Any minecraft experts here?

If you are interested in "hacking people" you have no business being on a server at all. People like that give Minecraft admins a bad name. And if you don't even know what Spigot is, you have no business setting up a minecraft server. I'm not trying to be rude, but you don't sound like you really have the qualifications to do this.
A proper staff member does not hack people. A proper staff member knows that they are there to serve the other players, not entertain themselves. You top priority is the smooth and peaceful functioning of the server, and the fair application of decisions when there are conflicts.
