Minecraft: is there an effective way to make a feather farm in ps3 edition?

Pretty much make a chicken farm on top of a few hoppers then place a dispenser with arrows in it that kills the chickens for semi-afk. Another way is to have a family of chickens on top of hoppers, then as you breed them, just kill the excess chickens, this would gain you XP, feathers, and raw chicken.
